Ayia Napa

Ayia Napa is a dark bay KWPN mare, born April 25, 2015, by Apache out of Nelinora (by Climax). She was bred right here on the family farm, out of the mare line the Van Esch family has built over a quarter century, and Petra has brought her along herself from the very first rides.

Her sire, Apache, was reserve champion at the 2008 KWPN stallion licensing, competed at international Grand Prix with Emmelie Scholtens, and earned the KWPN's preferent title in 2021. Her dam, Nelinora, competed at Small Tour and produced the Grand Prix horses Fido Dido and Fiji and the international Small Tour horse Fifty Fifty.

Ayia Napa placed eighth at Z2 (roughly Third Level) at the 2023 Brabant provincial championships and moved up to ZZ-Licht (Fourth Level) in 2024. In 2025 she made the step to FEI, showing in Prix St. Georges and Intermediate I in Switzerland, at Grüningen in June and Dielsdorf in November.

At the KWPN home inspection in April 2026 she scored 85 for conformation, 80 for walk and 85 for trot, earning her ster predicate.
