From our foals to Grand Prix

Bred here, trained here

Dressuurstal Petra van Esch sits on a family farm in Gemonde, in the south of the Netherlands, that has been in the Van Esch family for more than a hundred years. The dairy cows left a quarter century ago. Since then, it has been all about horses.

It started with one mare, Nelinora. From her, the family has bred its own line of dressage horses, and Petra van Esch trains them herself, with a correct, classical foundation as the starting point for everything that follows. That approach has carried seven horses to Grand Prix, including three home-bred full brothers.

The farm is minutes from 's-Hertogenbosch, home of the annual KWPN Stallion Show, the largest stallion licensing in the world, and of The Dutch Masters, which has brought international equestrian sport to Brabant since 1966.
